Why does Air Quality Matter?

Outdoor air pollution accounts for approximately 3.3 million premature deaths per year. Vehicle emissions, industrial facilities, and energy generation tend to be the primary contributers to urban air pollution.

Particulate matter, ozone, and diesel pollution can lead to long term morbidity and eventual mortality due to long-term exposures. Our tool attempts to raise awareness of possible air pollution harm in the City of Philadelphia.
